9. Focus the issues

If you can hone in on your specific concerns in preparation for your appointment with your solicitor, not only can you ensure that those concerns are covered, but you can limit the time you both spend in that appointment. It may sound obvious, and there is always a place for discussing a matter generally, particularly as your solicitor may find that items which do not seem significant to you, will have important repercussions in the smooth progress of your case. However, ensuring you are clear ahead of a meeting of what you need covered and what your priorities are will help direct your case, address your concerns and keep the appointment time – and so costs – limited.
